This working tower mill is the only one in the county with left-handed sails. It was built by Sam Oxley of Alford in c1813 and contains much of its original equipment. There is also a gallery, which outlines the history of milling, tearoom and a gift shop. Free parking. |

‘automated’ Victorian mill, powered by water turbines,
that produced flour not by traditional millstones, but by the modern
method of precision roller milling. The unique early roller milling machinery
extends over four floors. Also machinery for producing animal feed.
Interpretive displays and models. Mill shop selling flours and oat products (free recipes), craft workers, craft shop, café and free car park.

Fully restored and
working watermill producing organic stone-ground flour sold in the mill shop.
On the bank of the River Slea, approximately half a
mile from the town centre, the mill has a long and fascinating history.
Probably originating as an Anglo Saxon estate mill, parts of the building go
back to the 17th century. Special days throughout the year. |

windmill on the edge of the Fens in Explore the whole site
and enjoy a guided tour right to the top of the tower. Our visitor centre

The restored working 5 storey
tower mill built in 1807 was once owned and operated by the father of George
Green, a mathematical physicist. Recently refurbished ‘hands-on’
science exhibits also illustrate some of George Green’s scientific
achievements. The mill works when conditions allow producing stone ground
organic flours which are on sale. Light refreshments available. Disabled access via Belvoir Hill by prior arrangement.

of organic stoneground flours. Whilst watching the

built in 1813 by a syndicate of local farmers and now owned by North Leverton Windmill Trust. There is also a display of old farm
implements and other bygones in the warehouse next to the mill. Wholemeal flour and other milled products for sale. Refreshments will be available on bank holiday week-ends. |

Dusty Miller Passports
A passport can be obtained at some of the above mills. When visiting mills this can be stamped and when completed a badge is available at some of the mills. This scheme was set up many years ago in conjunction with Lincs Museums but they are no longer involved. Not all the mills taking part in the scheme have badges left so if you need one please contact our events co-ordinator whose details are on the contacts page.
